Novellus Systems, Inc.:  June 2012
In 2012, Lam Research Corporation merged with Novellus Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of wafer fabrication equipment and services with 2011 annual revenues of $1.35 billion. The two companies possess complementary product capabilities, with Lam’s leadership in etch and single-wafer clean equipment aligning with Novellus’ leadership in thin film deposition and photoresist strip. The combined company is well positioned to lead the global semiconductor industry through the next critical technology transitions, including 3D structures in advanced devices and scaling to 450 mm wafers.

Lam Research AG, formerly SEZ Group: March 2008
Acquisition of the SEZ Group provided Lam Research with access to an installed base of more than 1,200 wet wafer processing systems that use SEZ’s pioneering single-wafer spin clean technology.  This installed base provides Lam Research with an in-place infrastructure that will accelerate the Company’s development of advanced single-wafer clean solutions, including both wet and plasma-based technologies.  As a result, Lam Research is well positioned to take advantage of the transition from batch to single-wafer processing to meet the stringent wafer cleaning requirements of next-generation devices.

Silfex Incorporated, formerly Bullen Semiconductor: October 2006
Formerly a division of Bullen Ultrasonics, Silfex is a division of Lam Research.  Silfex provides silicon growing and fabrication capabilities that help ensure continued availability of proprietary components essential to the performance of Lam’s market-leading etch chambers.  In addition to serving the semiconductor manufacturing market, Silfex supplies high-purity custom silicon components and assemblies to a broad base of high-technology markets, including semiconductor test, solar, and optical.
